Inspirational Cards

Inspirational Greeting Cards remembering that happiness is not diminished by sharing it, And that you can’t cross a chasm in two small steps.

Finding inspiration and breathing life into others is a fundamental question in life. The word “inspire” derives from the Latin word “inspirare,” meaning to blow into or breathe upon. It is also the root of the word “spirit.”

In the ancient world, “inspirare” was figuratively used to mean to excite or inflame. Whether we like it or not, we don’t appreciate being told what to do by others unless they inspire us. However, inspiring others is a delicate balance. We all know that preaching can quickly turn people off. It’s even worse when we feel like we’re being sold to.

The art lies in maintaining the right tone to build a connection with the listener. And it is easier said than done. How to strike the right tone of inspiration without superiority? Our inspirational card titled “Chasm” features a quote from British Prime Minister David Lloyd George: “Don’t be afraid to take a big step if one is indicated. You can’t cross a chasm in two small jumps.”

The Future’s So Bright

Inspiration extends to creativity as well. While most of our cards have a light touch with inspiring words and pictures, we avoid being preachy. One of our cards playfully questions the brightness of the future with “The Future’s So Bright”. It’s topped off with a pair of sunglasses against a sun-yellow background. We acknowledge that the future is not always as bright as we hope it to be. Sometimes, we need to bend a little. We must be fools for love or something we believe in to fully experience life.

Being inspired involves laughter before happiness. As the quote goes: “One has to laugh before being happy; otherwise, one risks dying before having laughed.” The film “Oh Lucky Man” portrays this idea. If you haven’t seen the film, do so. You will love the final scene and the passing on of the knowledge of how to smile.

In a world where individuality is valued, we don’t want to be confined to boxes and told who we are. The message must be gentle to avoid resistance. Most of our inspirational cards combine images and words to convey their messages. However, there is one card that relies solely on the image of a man at prayer at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, conveying meaning and inspiration without words.

A Brighter Tomorrow

The “Tomorrow” card emphasizes living each day to the fullest, with futuristic text against a red background. Trying to be normal will never satisfy our inner experiences, and curiosity, passion, and ethics should guide our lives. Let curiosity and zest for life shape our journey, and by living it, we discover how to be inspired.

Keep Calm and Carry On

Our “Keep Calm” card conveys its message through words, focusing on the well-known statement “Keep Calm and Carry On.” However, the last letter is intentionally hanging off, held by a single screw, symbolizing that everything hangs by a thread. Keeping calm, even when everything goes wrong, is better than panicking. To carry on blindly against our hearts’ desires is not the path to inspiration.

Just Sweat

Our cards cover various themes, such as fitness with the “Sweat” card, showcasing determination and appreciation for those who persevere. The “Rise and Fall” card features a seated Buddha and a quote about seeing the true nature of things rather than living a superficial existence.

Or Maybe Just Cuddle

Lastly, the “Cuddle” card depicts a guinea pig and a banner urging people to cuddle a guinea pig and make the world a better place. In summary, the answer to how to be inspired is to inspire others. Our own light can guide others through our actions. While we are not expected to be perfect, we should still make an effort because we all have a contribution to make.
