Morning Glory Flowers
Morning glory is the common name for Ipomoea tricolor. Because of the shape of its flowers it is easily confused with Bindweed, of which there are two different kinds that are very similar to it and to each other.. There is hedge bindweed (Calystegia sepium) and field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis). Both are very similar in appearance and behaviour and are common in the UK. Ipomoea, on the other hand is native to the Americas. It is a tender annual climber that bears beautiful, exotic-looking, colourful flowers on fast-growing twining stems clothed with heart-shaped green leaves.
