Min Max Quantity And Order – if you understand it, you know I am giving the bottom line away with the title. That’s because I tried out a plugin that did not do that. Then I found Minimum Maximum Quantity and Order. And it does exactly that.

OK, let’s take a step back.

The store owner’s requirements – how many of a product, in what increments, and what minimum order value a customer can buy can apply to any store. It’s most likely to apply to a B2B (business to business) store, though. 

Setting Out The Requirements

Let’s say that the store owner wants customers to buy six, or twelve, or eighteen etc of a product. But not fewer than six, (and in multiples or increments of six) of a product.

And they can buy as many different products as they like. That is provided that all satisfy the rule of not fewer than six of a product. And let’s say the store owner wants customers to buy a minimum of 120 products per order.

If you are new to ordering in multiples, then let’s say there are products A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, etc in the catalogue. And let’s say you choose products A, C, E, G, and H. Then you must buy either six, twelve, eighteen, twenty-four etc of each of A, C, E, G, and H. That is, you must buy in multiple of six. And the total cards ordered must be not less than 120.

So you could buy 36 of A, 72 of C, 6 of E, 6 of G, and 18 of H. And that totals more than the required minimum of 120 cards per order. However, you cannot buy 3, or 5, or 17 of F because they are not multiples of 6.

I bought Min/Max Quantities by WooCommerce and could not get it to do what I needed. I asked Support at WooCommerce, and they confirmed the plugin did not do what I wanted it to do.

At the same time, I had asked the same question in the WooCommerce Help and Share group on Facebook. A Happiness Engineer from WooCommerce who happened to be in that Facebook group suggested the Min/Max plugin would work. But when I laid out the exact requirements, she agreed the plugin would not do what I needed.

I googled and found WooCommerce Minimum Maximum Quantity and Order plugin by Plugin Republic. I asked Gareth at Plugin Republic whether their plugin would do what I needed and he replied “Yes, absolutely – the plugin is designed to do this.” What more could I ask for?

And it does.
