And what is roaring? It a wolverine. (Gulo gulo), also known as the carcajou, or skunk bear. It is stocky and muscular and looks like a small bear. It is actually a member of the Mustelidae family, which includes weasels, badgers, and otters.
Wolverines live in remote northern boreal forests, tundra, and alpine regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. In North America, their range includes parts of Canada, Alaska, and the northern contiguous United States.
As you can tell from their native habitat, they prefer cold, snowy environments with fewer competitors and predators.
They are carnivores, scavenging or taking small mammals and birds. They live mostly alone, getting together for mating, They travel fast and their terrritory can cover hundreds of square kilometres. And that roar of It’s a Boy is typical of them. That and a high pitched scream when they are cornered.
